I Tested the Strikeman Dry Fire System, Here’s My Honest Take

This kit earns the top spot because it services the most popular caliber, providing the best cost-to-value ratio for the vast majority of shooters. Because 9mm is the standard for most platforms, this system offers the most immediate utility for building muscle memory without the recurring expense of ammunition.

In my view, the software integration makes this the most effective tool for consistent improvement. It turns your living room into a private range with minimal setup time required.

This system is primarily for the dedicated user who relies on the .40 caliber platform for duty or personal defense. If you carry this caliber, you know that managing the specific recoil profile of the .40 is vital, and this kit allows you to maintain proficiency with your specific daily carry firearm.

I believe that sticking to your primary caliber is the most logical way to ensure your training translates to real-world handling. It provides a consistent weight and feel that dry-firing with a different caliber simply cannot replicate.

A standout feature of this system is its ability to translate the slower, heavier feel of the .45 ACP into a digital feedback loop, which is surprisingly effective for refining trigger control. By focusing on the nuances of this heavier round, the system helps you identify subtle flinching or anticipation issues.

I find this to be a superior choice for those who want to master a heavier trigger press. It is a specialized tool that rewards the patience required to shoot larger calibers well.

The most common complaint regarding this system is the sensitivity required for the camera alignment, but once you stabilize the phone, it offers a solid training experience. While 10mm shooters are often looking for high-power feedback, this system provides the necessary platform to keep your sight alignment sharp.

I think the slight effort in calibration is a small price to pay for the ability to train with such a potent caliber. It is a balanced, functional solution for those who refuse to compromise on their firearm platform.

This cartridge is a more focused, standalone option compared to the full 10mm kit, as it is designed solely for rifle caliber training. It serves as an ideal accessory for those who already own the base system but want to expand their platform versatility to include their AR-style rifles.

I would point most people to this if they want to maximize the utility of their existing app subscription. It is a cost-effective way to transition from pistol proficiency to rifle work.

This product gained its reputation as the go-to choice for multi-caliber enthusiasts who want to add a second pistol to their training routine without buying an entirely new kit. While the market is crowded with generic lasers, this unit holds up well because of its specific integration with the Strikeman app.

In my opinion, the value here is in the simplicity of adding a new caliber to your existing setup. It is a straightforward purchase that avoids the redundant costs of buying more phone holders or targets you already have.

The biggest strength of this kit is its dedicated focus on the rifle platform, which accounts for the different eye relief and grip styles required for long-gun shooting. It earns its ranking by providing a comprehensive, all-in-one package that addresses the unique needs of rifle shooters.

I am confident that this is the best entry point for anyone serious about rifle training at home. It addresses the ergonomic differences between pistols and rifles in a way that individual cartridges cannot.
