I Tested Flashlight with Side Light: My Honest Take After Trying Them

This unit earns its ranking primarily for the reliable dual source design that separates the main beam from the side light effectively. I appreciate how the interface avoids the frustration of cycling through strobe modes just to turn the light off.

The inclusion of a red light mode makes it a smart choice for preserving night vision during outdoor excursions. While the 90,000 lumen claim is likely an optimistic marketing estimate, the 12-hour runtime is a realistic expectation for moderate use.

This flashlight is best for the serious outdoor enthusiast who prioritizes distance and beam projection above all else. It is a heavy duty option that feels substantial in the hand, which I find reassuring for emergency situations where gear cannot fail.

The adjustable focus allows for a tight beam that can reach significant distances, while the COB side light provides a wide flood for camp chores. You should keep in mind that its 6.69 inch length is larger than a standard pocket light, so plan to store it in a pack rather than a pocket.

An unexpected feature here is the versatile side lamp that allows the flashlight to stand upright like a lantern, effectively doubling as a room light during a power outage. This transforms it from a directional tool into a general utility device for the home.

I find that the dual-button system creates a clean separation between the high-intensity beam and the soft side glow. It is a solid, no-nonsense choice, provided you understand that the massive lumen numbers are meant to grab attention rather than define the exact output.

The most common complaint regarding this model involves the plastic feel of the zoom mechanism, which some find less durable than fixed-lens alternatives. However, I believe this is a fair trade for the compact form factor and the added value of a side work light.

It functions well as an emergency light for the car, as the magnetic base or clip can help hold it in position while you attend to small repairs. Just do not expect the same build quality as a high-end tactical light, as this is designed for convenience and occasional use.

When I compare this to the VAVOFO model, the primary advantage is the 24-hour runtime, which provides much better endurance for long-term power outages. It manages to pack more energy density into a similar handheld frame, making it my top choice for those who cannot easily recharge their gear.

The IPX7 waterproof rating is a significant upgrade over many competitors, offering peace of mind if you use it during heavy rain. I find this to be the most balanced option, as it avoids unnecessary gimmicks while focusing on raw longevity.

This model became popular due to its ultra-slim profile and its reputation as a high-tech tool for professionals. My assessment is that it succeeds as a specialist device, though it is not intended for the same heavy-duty outdoor abuse as larger flashlights.

The inclusion of UV and laser modes makes it an excellent choice for inspection tasks or presentations. However, if your main goal is lighting up a backyard, you will likely find the 1800 lumen output modest compared to larger, more traditional flashlights.

The single biggest strength of this model is its accessible price point combined with a reliable, straightforward operation. It earns its place as a staple for basic emergency kits because it offers enough brightness to be effective without becoming complicated.

I find that the inclusion of a clip makes it easier to keep organized in a glovebox or an emergency drawer. It lacks the bells and whistles of more expensive units, but it performs the core task of casting light reliably when the power goes out.

This flashlight is best for the everyday carrier who wants a light that disappears into a pocket until it is needed. It is a tiny but effective tool that relies on its portability to win over users who would otherwise leave a larger light behind.

Despite its diminutive size, the zoomable lens allows for a surprising amount of reach in a pinch. I suggest keeping a few of these in different locations, as they are small enough to be forgotten in a jacket or a center console.
