I Tested the Artisan Type 99 Mousepad and the Results Were Impressive

This model secures its place because it provides the most consistent tracking surface for users who demand extra real estate. The XL size is a standard for professional layouts, offering enough room for wide arm movements without forcing you to constantly reset your mouse position.

I think the Matcha colorway is visually refreshing compared to the standard black options, though it does require a bit more diligence to keep looking pristine. It is a solid, reliable anchor for any high-performance station.

This size is ideal for the standard desk user who needs high performance but lacks the depth for a massive desk mat. It provides the same signature surface characteristics of the larger versions, just in a more manageable, compact footprint.

In my view, this is the most practical choice for cramped setups where every square inch of desk space is spoken for by keyboards and monitors. It strikes a balance between professional utility and space efficiency.

An unexpected feature of this pad is its stealth aesthetic, which manages to look professional in any office setting while hiding dust better than lighter colors. It disappears into your desk setup, letting your peripherals do the talking rather than the mat itself.

I find that the black variant appeals to those who prefer a clean, understated look. It is an excellent choice for a minimalist environment where visual clutter is the enemy.

The most common buyer complaint regarding this version is its tendency to show surface discoloration over time, which can be an annoyance for those who demand a perfect aesthetic. However, when you look past the color maintenance, you get the same top-tier performance as the rest of the 99 series.

I suspect that the gray option is intended for users who want to break away from the usual black and matcha themes. It is a bold, albeit higher-maintenance choice for a modern desk.

When you compare this to the XL version, the primary advantage is the sheer maximum surface area, which eliminates the risk of running off the edge during intense movements. It acts like a foundation for your entire setup, unifying your keyboard and mouse on a single, uniform plane.

I rank this as my top pick because it offers the most freedom for low-sensitivity players. It is the ultimate luxury for anyone with a desk large enough to accommodate it.

This pad became a market favorite largely due to its reputation for balanced control, which is a difficult middle ground to strike in the current industry. After examining the feedback, it seems this reputation holds up quite well because the surface offers just enough friction to feel secure without dragging.

I consider this the gold standard for anyone who wants a predictable, versatile surface. It handles a wide range of playstyles and work tasks with equal ease.

This model earns its ranking because it provides surgical precision for those who rely on high-sensitivity tracking in a smaller space. The orange hue is a stylistic choice, but the performance characteristics remain firmly rooted in the high-quality standards the brand is known for.

I think this is an excellent tool for someone who needs a focused workspace where every movement is deliberate. It is small, but it punches above its weight class in terms of feedback.

This is the best choice for the vibrant workspace enthusiast who wants their desk to make a statement without sacrificing performance. The XL dimensions provide the surface area needed for broader movements, while the bright color ensures your setup is anything but boring.

I appreciate that this pad does not hide in the shadows. It is a fantastic option for creators who want to inject energy and style into their daily environment.

An interesting feature of this specific model is the extreme speed it offers, which stands out compared to the more controlled friction of the other models. It is designed for those who want their mouse to feel like it is floating across the surface.

I suggest this for players who prioritize speed above all else. It is a specialized tool that rewards quick reflexes and precise, light touches.
